VALDOSTA — Randy and Gina Becton of Quitman announce the engagement
of their daughter, Amanda Renee Becton, to Jack Ryce “JRyce” Martin,
son of Jack and Lovelle Martin of Lake Park. The wedding is planned for
6 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Valdosta.
A reception will follow in the Woman’s Building in Valdosta. The
future bride is a graduate of Lowndes High School. She is attending Valdosta
State University where she will graduate Magna Cum Laude from the College
of Nursing in May. Upon graduation, she will be employed by South Georgia
Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
Amanda is the granddaughter of Sammy and Sylvia Jones of Valdosta. The
future groom is a graduate of Lowndes High School. He is attending Valdosta
State University and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science with a
major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He is employed part-time for
JSM Custom Construction, LLC. He is the grandson of Clois Martin, formerly
of Barney, now of Lake Park, and the late Jack S. Martin, Sr. of Barney;
Ron and Hazel Wetherington of Valdosta; and Liska and Jim Gooding of
Dekle Beach, Fla.
