Ron and Billie Copeland of Valdosta announce the engagement of their daughter, Melinda Laine Copeland, to Timothy Richard Fike, son of David and Laurie Ann Fike of Lake City, Fla. The wedding is planned for 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007, at Airport Church of Christ in Valdosta. The bride-elect’s maternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Jim Cooley of Lucedale, Miss., and her paternal grandparents are Mrs. Vera Copeland and the late Mr. Robert Aaron Copeland, Sr. of Valdosta. She is a 2002 graduate of Lowndes High School in Valdosta and 2006 graduate of Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Mass Media with an emphasis in Video. The groom-elect’s maternal grandparents are Elbert and Clara Long, and his paternal grandparents are Mrs. Katherine Hunter and the late Mr. George Paul Fike, Jr. of Lake City. He is a 1999 graduate of Columbia High School in Lake City and is attending Flagler University pursuing a degree in Business Administration. He is employed by the Florida Department of Education as an Information Security Specialist.
