Barr-Fuller

Sybil Amanda Fuller of Plains and Sgt. Charles Robinson Barr of Americus were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. June 11, 2011 at Pondhouse, Plains.

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Kim Fuller of Plains and the groom is the son of Wade and Susan Barr of Americus.

The Rev. Lee Smith and Ray Manilla of Americus performed the double ring ceremony.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless chiffon (white) gown with self-tied ribbon at waist.

The bouquet, made by the bride’s grandmother Sybil Carter, was of white larkspur, white daisies and roses, forget-me-nots, Queen Anne’s lace from her mother’s garden, and analia from the bride’s great grandmother’s (the late Lillian Carter) plant.

Bridesmaids were Lane Marchant, Christy Barr, sister-in-law; Leigh Hall, matron of honor and Ashley Goodin, all of Americus. Honor attendant was Michael Myers, of New York.

The Bridesmaids wore strapless dresses, the attendants wore aqua satin and the matron of honor wore chocolate brown satin. They carried daisies and white roses.

Nieces Brooke and Ava Richard of Baton Rouge, La. were flower girls. They carried baskets of white rose petals.

Ring bearer was nephew David Barr, of Americus.

Father of the groom, Wade Barr was best man.

Groomsmen were Joey Newton, of Ft. Rucker, Ala., Bud Fuller, brother of the bride, of Plains, and Chris Barr, brother of the groom, of Americus.

The bride’s mother wore a coral fitted jacket with black skirt. She carried salmon roses with baby’s breath posey.

The groom’s mother wore a sage green gown with fitted jacket. She carried salmon roses and baby’s breath posey.

Musical selections included “Make You Feel My Love” performed by Christy Barr and “Making Memories of Us,” performed by Sidney Davis and Will Dozier.

Pianist for the ceremony was Carol Anderson.

A reception was held at the Plains Community Center.

The bride’s book was kept by cousin of the bride, Carter Flynn, Albany.

Servers were Anna Usry, of Byron and Cameron, Burkett, of Plains, both cousins of the bride and Lauren Dominick, of Plains as well as Cathy Young, Ellen Harris, Ellen Ratliff and Alma Chapman.

A rehearsal dinner hosted the parents of the groom was held at Bison Valley Lodge in Americus Friday, June 10.

A bridesmaids luncheon and scrapbooking party was held at Marthann Fennessy’s home Friday June 10. Hosts were Leigh Hall, Marthann Fennessy, Leslie Blankenship and Jo Winegard.

Following a wedding trip to Hilton Head South Carolina, the couple is living in Richland, Ga. The groom is an Army Sgt. stationed at Fort Benning and the bride is an English Language Institute instructor at Georgia Southwestern State University.

Parties and Showers

The couple was honored with a lawn and garden party by their grandmothers and aunts on April 16. Miscellaneous showers were hosted by a group of friends and by the women of Plains Methodist Church, both on May 1. Another shower was held by the women of First United Methodist Church on May 29. A Christmas themed party was held by Becky Kerlin, Christy Barr and Tina Todd.
