Mr. and Mrs. Chipley H. Johnson of Hollywood, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Hunter Leigh Johnson, of Hollywood, to John Thomas Sims Jr. of Marietta, son of Mr. and Mrs. John T. Sims Sr. and Col. and Mrs. Arnold J. Canada, all of Pine Mountain.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Johnson and Dr. and Mrs. T.L. Hodges Jr. and the late Carolyn Hodges, all of Clarkesville.
She is a 2007 graduate of Habersham Central High School in Mt. Airy and a 2012 graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University, Marietta with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She is employed with Arthur J. Gallagher, Alpharetta.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Sims of Simsville, Ala., and Mr. and Mrs. William H. Weldon of Port St. Joe, Fla.
He is a 2006 graduate of Southland Academy, Americus and a 2008 graduate of South Georgia Technical College, Americus with an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering drafting. He is employed with Securus, Alpharetta.
The wedding is planned for June 16, 2012, at Kingston Stables, Lakemont, Ga.
