Bill Walls was surprised by family and friends at his 80th birthday celebration on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Peace Baptist Church in Branford. Among those present were his sons, Dr. Richard Walls from Marietta, Ga. and Jeff Walls who resides in  Leesburg, Va., as well as friends from Ft. Lauderdale and Lady Lake, Fla. Bill was totally surprised which made it such a wonderful event in his honor.

Jan is the daughter of Sharon Shaw, and Tee is the son of J.T. and Lana Hingson, all of Live Oak.

The couple was married in a private ceremony on April 20, 2013, at the home of the groom’s parents.

After a honeymoon cruise to Mexico, the family returned to their residence in Live Oak.

The bride’s maternal grandparents are Jimmy and Gloria Williams of Live Oak, Florida. Her paternal grandparents are Ronald and Barbara Swann of Live Oak, Florida.

The groom’s maternal grandparents are Gail Meyer and the late Robert Meyer of Madison, Florida and James and Billie Carrier of Live Oak, Florida. His paternal grandparents are Nathan Newman and the late Virginia Newman of Greenville, Florida.

The couple is planning a wedding for June 20, 2013 in the Caribbean on the island of Saint Lucia.

What do the dates Feb. 19 and May 8 have in common? Well on those two dates this year two beautiful ladies turned 100-years-old. Mrs. Rena Johns and Mrs. Marjorie Musgrove have been friends for several years. They both reside at Surrey Place Care Center . They are some of our most active elders too. They both rode on our Christmas float this year. Last year Mrs. Musgrove rode a horse at our spring picnic. Mrs. Johns went on our Myrtle Beach trip last fall. They share a love of family, gardening, reading and most importantly, God. They are truly an inspiration to all of us.

The wedding is planned for April 4, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Live Oak, Fla.

Bride elect’s paternal grandparents Rachel (Juanita) Butler and the late Luther M. Butler of Live Oak, Fla.

The bride graduated from Suwannee High in 2008, graduated North Florida community College in 2010 with an A.A. Currently a music student at The Baptist College of Florida.

Rachel is the Youth Worship Leader/Children’s Choir Director, employed by Eastside Baptist Church in Marianna, Fla.

Benjamin’s Maternal grandparents are Clairce Thomas and the late Edwin W. Thomas of Harvest, Al. Paternal grandparents are Janice Lott and the late James C. Lott, Jr. of Madison, Al.

The groom graduated from Suwannee High in 2010 and currently a music student at The Baptist College of Florida. Both Rachel and Lucas will graduate Dec. 2013.

Benjamin is Worship leader at Damascus Baptist Church, Graceville, Fla.

Mark is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson and the late Mrs. Margaret Anderson, all of Pinellas County, Florida.

The ceremony will take place May 25, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. at Triumph Church Kingdom of God in Christ, 410 Taylor Avenue, Live Oak, Florida. Reception will immediately follow at Columbia County Fairgrounds, 438 SW State Road 247 (Branford Hwy), Lake City, Florida.

The groom-elect’s maternal grandparents are the late Mrs. Annie Rae and J.C. Edison of Romeo, Fla . His paternal grandparents are Mrs. Bertha Reeves Hodge of McAlpin, Fla., and the late R.J. Hodge of Gulf Hammock, Fla. The groom graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Food and Economic Resources degree. He is a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Ray is the Director of Governmental Affairs with Southeast Milk, Inc.

The wedding will be held on July 27, 2013, at 7 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Douglas, Georgia. The couple will reside in McAlpin, Fla.
