ADEL, Ga. — Randy and Gina VanMetre of Adel, Ga., announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristy Noel, to Jay Louis Pope. He is the son of Jesse and Susan Pope of Norman Park.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Roger and Frances Griffin of Adel, Ga. and the late Ford and Dorothy VanMetre. She is the great-granddaughter of Rubye Griffin of Adel, Ga. and Naomi Bishop Milliorn of Atlanta, Ga.
She is a 2004 graduate of Cook High School, in Adel, Ga., and a 2009 graduate of Valdosta Technical College in Valdosta, Ga., where she received an Associate of Applied Science degree in radiology.
The future groom is the grandson of J.A. and Margaret Pope of Norman Park and Opal Medley of Norman Park and the late James L. Medley.
He is a 2002 honor graduate of Colquitt County High School and a 2006 summa cum laude graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Ga., where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. He is currently employed as a registered nurse at Colquitt Regional Medical Center in Moultrie.
The wedding is set for 3 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at the Adel Church of God in Adel, Ga. All family and friends are invited to attend.
