BARNEY — Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Millard Hurst Jr. of Barney announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebecca Lynn Hurst of Tifton, to John Clifton Peters Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Clifton Peters Sr. of Moultrie.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Hattie Jean Burton  and the late Clifford H. (Bud) Burton Sr. of Barney and Mrs. Christine Sutton Hurst and the late Raymond Millard Hurst Sr. of Sylvester She is a graduate of Cook High School and Georgia Southern University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and is an alumna of the Epsilon Pi chapter of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
Miss Hurst graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and in July of 2012 she received her Masters of Science in Nursing, also from Valdosta State University.
She is employed by Tifton Woman’s Center as a nurse practitioner.
The future groom is the grandson of the Honorable William Cooper Peters  and the late Mrs. Ellen Brown Peters of Moultrie and the late Dr. and Mrs. Eugene Monroe Flowers of Tifton. He is a graduate of Colquitt County High School and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College with an Associate of Science in Business and the University of Georgia, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
He is an alumnus of the Beta Lambda chapter of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He is employed with Ag Georgia Farm Credit in Moultrie as the branch manager.
The wedding is planned for Oct. 6, 2012 at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Moultrie.
