SYLVESTER —  Gene and Sarah Toomer of Sylvester are pleased to announce the engagement of and forthcoming wedding of their daughter, Patrice Renee’ Toomer, to Fredrick Jerome Bennett, son of the late Wilma Jean Bennett of Lenox.
The bride-elect’s paternal grandparents are the late  Raymond Sr. and Hattie Toomer of Sylvester, and her maternal grandparents are the late Felton Sr. and Catherine McCant of Tifton. Miss Toomer is a 1995 graduate of Worth County High School and a 1997 graduate of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College with an Associate of Science in Secondary Education. Patrice received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Valdosta State University in 2001. She received a Masters of Library Science and Information in 2008 from Valdosta State University. Patrice also recently completed an Educational Specialist degree (EdS.) in Instructional Technology in 2010 from Valdosta State University. Patrice is employed by Wiregrass Georgia Technical College as the Library and Media Services Coordinator (Head Librarian) for the Coffee Campus in Douglas.
The groom-elect’s maternal grandparents are the late Willie Sr. and Jesse Mae Bennett of Lenox. Fredrick is a 2008 G.E.D. graduate from Moultrie Technical College. In 2009 Fredrick received the EAGLE award (Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education) from Moultrie Technical College and represented Moultrie Tech on the state level in Atlanta that year. EAGLE is the highest honor a G.E.D. student can receive within the state of Georgia. Fredrick is a 2009 graduate from Moultrie Technical College with Comptia A+ and PC Repair/Network Technician Certificates. Fredrick in 2010 completed both a Computer Support Specialist and Network Specialist Diploma from Moultrie Technical College. Fredrick recently completed an Associates of Applied Science in Internet Specialist and Web-Design from Moultrie Technical College in May 2012. Fredrick is a full-time student and a computer repair technician with plans now to open his own computer business. Fredrick asked Patrice’s father at Thanksgiving dinner of 2011 for her hand in marriage. The happy couple plans to reside in Tifton.
The wedding is planned for Saturday August 18, 2012 at 4 p.m. at Freedom Worship Church at Exit 49 in Lenox, with the reception to follow immediately at Georgia Agrirama Conference Center at Exit 63B in Tifton. The wedding and reception are invitation only.
