Amy Lisa Rutland became the bride of Zachery Philip Barnett on October 22, 2011, on the ocean lawn of the King and Prince Resort on St. Simons Island, Georgia.
Officiating was the Rev. Dr. Thomas Egbert.
The bride’s parents are Riley and Rhonda Rutland of Valdosta, Georgia, and her grandparents are Mrs. Edna Barker Stokes of Fleming Island, Florida, and the late Mr. William Alexander Stokes and the late Robert Hugh and Mrs. Bertha Martin Rutland.
The groom’s parents are Philip and Lisa Barnett of Plano, Texas, and his grandparents are Mr. Thomas Elmore and Mrs. Mona Mitchell Lindsey of Carrollton, Texas, and Mrs. Patricia Barnett Johnson of Lubbock, Texas, and the late Mr. Earl Dean Barnett.
Music for the wedding ceremony was provided by The String Group of Jacksonville, Florida. Program attendant was Miss Delaney Dawn Lindsey of Plano.
Maid of honor was Miss Rachel Claire Morgan of Athens, Georgia. Bridesmaids were Miss Jordan Elissa Barnett of Plano, sister of the groom; Miss Natalie Rebecca Eaton of Nashville, Tennessee; Miss Haleigh Stratton Sherbak of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and Miss Jennifer Leigh Stump of Valdosta.
Best man was Mr. Amar Kishan Thakrar of Lubbock. Groomsmen were Mr. Andrew Stokes Rutland, brother of the bride, of Valdosta; Mr. Antonio Angelo Pasek of Houston, Texas; Mr. Michael Louis Sganga of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Mr. Jason Michael Wills, Dallas, Texas.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
A reception was held at The Lanier Ballroom at the King and Prince Resort on St. Simons Island. Guests dined and danced to the music of the Fabulous Classics of Valdosta.
After a honeymoon at The Cloister on Sea Island, Georgia, the newlyweds are residing in Philadelphia, where the bride is employed by CVS Pharmacy as a pharmacist.
The bride is a graduate of Valdosta High School and the College of Pharmacy at the University of Georgia, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. The groom is a graduate of Plano Senior High School and Texas Tech University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He is a third year medical student at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine.
